We all have stood before mirrors in trial rooms and our bedrooms and promised ourselves to work on our body, didn’t we? But that extra slice of pizza or the burger isn’t allowing us to do so, right?! We swear to ourselves the next day about not even taking a look at pizzas, burgers, etc. but, we just can’t resist, can we?

Everyone has a particular outfit that they have imagined that will look good on them. You don’t? I do though. But what has kept us from trying that? The pizzas, burgers, ice-creams, pasta, etc. It is a kind of toxic relationship between us and these foods, isn’t it? Like we want to leave them because they are not good for us but it seems we just can’t. The only thing standing between us and our dream outfit are those extra kilos/pounds.

But we do need to stay and maintain a healthy lifestyle because it is not a want or desire. It is a necessity. A healthy lifestyle is required for the long run. Outfits and body shapes are just bonuses of a healthy lifestyle but the main achievements are better and healthy physical and mental health.

In this blog, we are going to discuss and understand the perks of staying fit and exercising.

So, shall we?

Helps our muscle:

Regular exercise is an integral part of healthy aging. Exercise not only helps maintain our body muscle but also helps us increase muscle. Muscle wear and tear occur when we exercise which leads to muscle building and maintaining which is essential for people of any age.

Helps in digestion:

Exercise helps in the digestion and digestive health of our body. It raises our heart rate which reduces the sluggishness of the intestine by stimulating the muscle. Exercising also helps in better blood flow to our digestive system. The stretching and strengthening of our muscles have been proven to promote digestion. Aerobic exercises increase the blood flow to our organs and bring more blood to the gastrointestinal tract.

Better concentration:

Exercise helps in building our concentration for any kind of work or task. As exercise requires very good concentration, it helps us to build and improve our concentration for any aspect of life. Better concentration in exercise helps in better brain-muscle connection which is helpful and beneficial for our body.

Better metabolism:

Cardiovascular exercises like swimming, running, aerobics, walking, etc. stimulate our metabolism and help in the proper breakdown of the food that we have consumed, and helps in burning the calories.

Releases endorphin:

Exercising also leads to the release of endorphins in our bodies. Endorphins produced lead to a sense of euphoria and well-being in the mind of the person. It acts like morphine. Endorphins are responsible for the “runner’s high” and for the feelings of relaxation and optimism after the workout sessions.
Aids in weight loss:

Exercises one of the pillars of weight loss and without exercise, it is impossible to lose weight. Proper exercising accompanied by a well-balanced diet leads to the weight loss process and then eventually, the results. Even with simple exercises like walking, jogging, rope jumping, etc., it is possible to lose weight and stay fit. HIIT, weight training, strength training, etc. leads to a faster weight loss process as compared to the prior ways. Exercise is very essential for a healthy life.

Helps skin health:

Exercise enhances the blood flow to the skin. Studies have also shown that exercise improves acne by controlling the production of ache-inducing testosterone hormones like DHEA and DHT. The improved blood flow to the skin increases the glow of the skin. Exercising makes our skin sweat which removes the toxins through perspiration.

Brings about self-confidence:

Staying fit helps boost self-confidence. When we are fit and healthy, we feel confident and good about ourselves. It boosts our mental energy in a renewed form and keeps our self-confidence high. Workouts and exercising make us step out of our comfort zone and do something which we probably thought wouldn’t be possible for us. So, achieving that gives us a sense of accomplishment. We let go of our inner demons and face our fears which in return boosts our self-confidence.

Helps brain health and memory:

Exercise can improve brain function and protect memory and thinking skills. It increases our heart rate which leads to better blood flow and oxygen to our brain. It can also stimulate the production of hormones which enhances the growth of brain cells.
