Ikea to launch their new 100,000sq Ft store in Bangalore.
The Swedish company IKEA aims to create high-quality, well-designed, practical, and affordable home furnishings.
IKEA is immensely proud to join together nearly 163,000 coworkers from around the world who share fundamental humanistic ideals such as togetherness, humility, simplicity, cost- consciousness, and common sense.
Over the past 30 years, IKEA has sourced its global manufacturing from India. It has over 50 suppliers in India, with 45,000 direct workers and 400,000 people in the extended supply chain.

IKEA, the Swedish retail giant, now has plans in Bangalore, after opening a large-format store in Navi Mumbai. It has made real estate investments and intends to test the small-store format in Whitefield.
In collaboration with Indo-Space Industrial Park, IKEA has built a 270,000-square-foot distribution center in Pune, which is leased for Rs 20 crore per year. The shop, which opened in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai, employs 1,000 direct employees and 1,500 indirect employees.

IKEA India’s country commercial boss, Kavitha Rao, said in 2020, “Our goal is to cross 100 million people in India by 2022.” In Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi/NCR, we will create a strong omnichannel presence, and we are also looking into other opportunities in India. As a distribution channel, a mix of large IKEA shops, smaller city-center stores, and an
an online platform will be used.
“What we have done differently is how we have composed the goods in the room settings,” says Patrik Antoni, Deputy Country Manager, IKEA India. We’re attempting to become more important to the local sector. We’ve done about 1,000 home visits and conducted research into how people live and want to live, and then we’re bringing our goods together in a special way that represents the Indian needs. When comparing the rooms in IKEA Hyderabad to those in IKEA Sweden, the biggest difference is in the way the rooms and items are put together.”
IKEA India CEO Peter Betzel previously stated that small-format stores will be in city centers and would have the same look and feel as any other IKEA location. The Whitefield small- format store will have a smaller selection on sale, and the presentation will be more simple.
